Rand Gets Interviewed by Mike McDonald at PubCon

December 15th, 2007

One of my favorite people in the search industry is Mike McDonald (but he’s a terrificly humble guy so no one tell him I said so - it’ll go straight to his head). Last week at Pubcon in Vegas, Mike grabbed me for a 6.5 minute interview in the hallways of the Las Vegas Convention Center for what turned out to be a remarkably good video. The WebProNews team not only filmed, but cut and edited the piece with some serious style and panache - just do me a favor and stop watching when there’s 1:00 left - no one needs to see that last bit.

PubCon from a Conversions Conscious Perspective

December 11th, 2007

I’ve recently been tasked with managing our PPC campaign and working with Jeff on tweaking our landing pages in order to increase our Premium Membership conversions. This week at PubCon I attended as many conversions, PPC, and landing page-related sessions as I could to see if there were any tips or tactics I could pick up. Werewolves, Search Spam & Custom Cards - If You Are Going to Pubcon, Do Not Miss This

December 1st, 2007

UPDATE:  The party filled up very quickly so Reservations are now closed. Those of you wondering if you registered successfully can search for your name on this list. We’re looking forward to seeing you all there!

Next week, at Las Vegas’ Pubcon Conference, SEOmoz is throwing a whole new kind of party. In the past, we’ve had tons of fun playing the parlor game, Werewolf (description & rules here), with Googlers, SEOs, Black Hats & industry mavens. It’s the perfect combination of deceit, guile and yelling across a table. However, we’ve always felt that lynching villagers and biting victims was a little too 13th century for our tastes. Thus, we’ve updated the game of Werewolf with new cards, caricatures of popular industry figures and new titles and called it…
