Getting your website listed in the DMOZ directory in anything less than geologic time frames is next to impossible.  Most SEOs submit their sites and then forget about ever getting listed.  However, there is a way to guarantee that your site will be included in the DMOZ directory quickly: become a DMOZ editor for the category in which you have applied to have your website listed.

With the announcement of Knol, Google displayed their desire to become a publisher. Why? To make free information more accessible. It doesn’t hurt that publishers dominate other industries, like music - where in some cases giving artists nothing, while some artist get less than nothing, even if they made millions in sales.

Today at Pubcon, I’m speaking on the Link Buying Panel, but here on the blog, you’re getting a sneak peak at one of my topics for the presentation.

It’s my feeling that we (search engines and search marketers) have hit some intransigence on the paid links debate. The marketplace has to exist - and search engine have to fight against what they perceive to be manipulative, non-editorial votes. But, what if there was a solution that could make both sides happy? A place where money changed hands between parties, but editorial decisions still came into play?
