Acquiring users and getting them to take an action on your site is the absolute core of web marketing. Whether that action is making a purchase, signing up for a newsletter, registering for a demo…it doesn’t matter, if you’re doing business online, your job is to acquire users and get them to take an action.

Catalysts for Earning Natural Links & Link Conversion Rates

“Reference worthy content” is a phrase you’ll hear a lot in the SEO realm. The intent behind the statement is simple - build content that people will be likely to cite when they create works on the web. Parsing the motivations that inspire those citations, however, is anything but obvious. Tonight, I thought I’d try to list features that make content “reference worthy” and help to shed some insight on the psychological catalysts that build natural links.

Aaron interviews Ben and Karl from Conversion Rate Experts (CRE)

A few months ago, I hired Conversion Rate Experts to work on my business. I have learned loads from them. So far they have grown our conversion rate by 124%, and have given me great insights into the thought process of consumers hitting this site…reminding me why they buy, and how ineffectively we were conveying the value of all the different components of our offering. 124% is a good start, and we still have a lot of things to improve upon.

PubCon from a Conversions Conscious Perspective

I’ve recently been tasked with managing our PPC campaign and working with Jeff on tweaking our landing pages in order to increase our Premium Membership conversions. This week at PubCon I attended as many conversions, PPC, and landing page-related sessions as I could to see if there were any tips or tactics I could pick up. I’d classify myself as someone who knows more than the basics about PPC and conversions but is by no means an expert (otherwise, I’d be the one on the panel, right?), so I was hoping that the sessions I attended would cater to people like me, the “middle of the road” folks who don’t need a 101, but rather some guidance about what they’re doing wrong and how to improve their conversions.
